Beetham Tower, Manchester

The sky over Manchester was doing no photographic favours, and the midday light wasn't doing much in the way of golden colours or interesting shadows. But Manchester makes it's own colours and contrasts and the Victorian railway bridge against the modern Beetham Tower couldn't be passed.

I did an image search for this tower when putting up this post. There are at least 6.89 billion photos of it including many from this angle. I tend to avoid oft photographed structures and landmarks - what's the point? However that does leave me with no reference works or comparisons for my own work. I think this photo stands up well to the rest of them.

Would you change the editing or colouring - lean more into contrast? let me know on Instagram.
