Abandoned Rathlin

Abandoned Rathlin

The legendary Irish warrior Cuchulainn knew he was dying. To hold back the armies of his enemy he tied himself to a rock so they would believe he was alive. His ferocity was so renowned that nobody dared approach until a raven landed on his shoulder signalling to his enemies that he was no longer able to fight.

The bottle of Pledge furniture polish in this photo reminded me of Cuchulainn's last stand. Perhaps the mantle piece remains perfectly clean as the ravages of nature take down the rest of the house.

Looking back at the tech specs for this photo I am not sure why I pushed the lens to f22 and allowed the ISO jump to 5000. I suspect I just forgot to adjust the aperture after pointing my camera indoors from the sunlight. Regardless the grain suits it.
