A View from a Grotty Hotel Window, 1998

This is the Flood Building in San Francisco. Built during the Gold Rush, it famously survived the 1906 earthquake to become a symbol of the city's resilience.

When I took this, I was struck by the contrast between that historic stone façade and the saturated Pulp Fiction style mural next door. This is very 90s.
