Good Morning Dundalk
Are you really a street photographer if you don't take photos of people walking through a column of sunshine whilst being framed by some random streetscape? When you live in a quiet town like Dundalk you could be waiting 45 minutes for somebody to walk into the light, and often just as you get bored and put down the camera you realise that the people who might have walked through the light are instead standing behind you wondering what you are taking a photo of. The secret to capturing people going about their business is to actually stand somewhere that the people going about have business to go about to. Anyway - these two busy lads obliged.
I became the proud owner of a new Sigma 56mm f1.4 DC DN M4/3 lens just yesterday. This was its first outing. My initial reaction is that as a prime it is a fairly long lens (112mm equivalent) meaning I had to move back significantly to get a few shots. It is slightly slower to focus than any of my Zuiko lenses, and it is substantially less substantial then the Olympus Pro range. At f1.4 though I am really looking forward to shooting it later in the evening. The quality seems amazing, and it's a lovely size on the camera.
