Snow on The Grand Canal, Naas Branch

Snow on The Grand Canal, Naas Branch

I grew up in Naas, Co. Kildare and I have many photos of the town taken in the late 1990s. I don't claim to be an amazing photographer now, and I didn't claim to be one then, but looking back almost 30 years, I think young me had a good eye. I was definitely hampered by dirt cheap film. Scanning it on a cheap scanner after 30 years of storing it badly hasn't improved the quality. It has in some cases added an extra layer of interest though.

I shot a full roll in the snow in whatever winter this was and this is my favourite of the images. The scenery here has not changed in 30 years.
