Boyne Viaduct at Sunrise

Boyne Viaduct at Sunrise

Probably one of the most photographed bridges in Ireland, so I wanted to get it from a different angle. The bridge is very tall and crosses the River Boyne with Drogheda town and it's Victorian steeples as a magnificent backdrop. Trains passing over it reflect the rising sun.

So I took a position where the river was not visible, the height of the bridge is not obvious, and the trains going over it were in full shadow. I took 210 photos between first light and the end of "golden hour" and I was happy with one colour photo and 4 that I thought looked much better in B&W.

This colour photos are straight out of the camera. Nothing I did to them looked better than the jpegs my Olympus had created.
